Berachah on Lulav for Women

Q: I am Sephardi,is it assur if I make a Brocho on shaking the Lulav and Esrog and Sitting in a Succoh?

Answer:

For Lulav, many Sephardic authorities write that women do recite the berachah (Chida; Zachor Le-Avraham; Rav Pe’alim 1:12; Kaf Ha-Chaim 589:23) and some write that they can recite it if they want (Shemesh Umagen 2:72:3). The Shulchan Aruch writes that they should not recite the berachah, and this is ruled by Rav Ovadyah Yosef.

So, if you make the berachah, you certainly have whom to rely upon.

For Sukkah it is generally accepted not to recite the berachah.

Best wishes.
