Niddah Status During Labor

What are the laws during labor and/or
childbirth ? At what point do the laws of Niddah come into affect ?

Answer:

Generally what makes a woman a Nidah during labor is seeing blood. Either naturally from the progression of labor or if she is checked by a nurse to measure the opening and the glove is stained with blood. The water breaking does not make her a Nidah unless there is blood mixed with the water. The same is true of the mucus plug, without blood it would not make her a nidah.

In the event that no bleeding occurs, Niddah status is assumed only when she is in active labor to the extent that she can no longer walk and is ready to get onto the birthing bed.
