Onah at Night or Day

When one switches from veset kavuah to eino kavuah one carries over the kavuah for 3 times but does it also carry over the onah? Does one keep the onah time of the original kavuah or the onah time of the current veset. i.e. if the original veset kavuah was by day and the last veset was by night, now when one keeps the safek kavuah is the onah by day or night? When should one make the bedikos?

Answer:

I am not entirely clear about the question.

If the Onah is, say, 28 days complete days (from daytime to daytime), the count will 28 complete days. If the count started in the night it will finish in the night, and if at day than at day. Meaning, the principle is that the fixed Onah (28 days) is carried over and one must continue to count 28 days. The Onah – day or night – when 28 days fall is the time that one must be Poresh and make the bedikah.

I hope this is clear, please re-submit if not.

Best wishes.
