I’m in a non Jewish holiday house. How do I kosher the ceramic hob?
Answer:
The top can be kashered by means of turning on the burners at full heat, and pouring boiling (bubbling) water over the rest of the counter.
Alternatively, you can have a trivet (short metal stand) on the open (non-burner) areas of the stove-top, onto which the pots can be moved when not on the burner itself.
