Dad’s Birthday or Homework

One day I get back from school with a lot of homework that was due the next day. Today was my dads birthday and we were going to have dinner together at a really nice restaurant. I knew that if I went to dinner i wouldn’t be able to finish all of the homework in time. what should do.

Answer:

Go to you Dad’s birthday.

Honoring one’s parents is one of the most central principles by which we live. Our parents gave and give us all we have, and we have to give them utmost respect. This is also a Torah mitzvah.

Although it is important to give in homework on time, but you’ll have plenty of opportunities for this – unlike Dad’s birthday which is only once a year.

Best wishes.
