Jewish Mother for Beis Din

I was wondering if someone who is born from a Jewish mother and a non-Jewish father could act as a dayan. I know that he cant be a dayan for chalitza but what about other dinei torah, and on beth din for gittin, gerut. etc.

Answer:

The Shulchan Aruch rules explicitly that somebody with a Jewish mother (even if his father is not Jewish) can judge monetary and other matters on a Beis Din (by contrast with a convert, who cannot judge Jews even for monetary matter). See Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat 7:1; Yoreh De’ah 269:11.

Best wishes.
